In The News: 2 Ingredients Added to Prop 65

On April 21, 2023, the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) added the following 2 chemicals to the Proposition 65 list:

 

  • 1,1,1-trichloroethane (CAS-No. 71-55-6)
  • Leucomalachite green (CAS-No. 129-73-7)

 

Both chemicals are known to the State of California to cause cancer. The warning requirement for significant exposures to these chemicals will take effect on April 21, 2024.
