 In Consumer Products

By: Ivy Tang, Product Safety Specialist, email

Health Canada’s Consumer Product Safety Program have recently published their quarterly Consumer Product and Cosmetic Reports Received Summary. The summary covers reports received by the Consumer and Hazardous Products Safety Directorate, between January 1 to March 31, 2021.

These reports are published to provide the public with information regarding consumer and cosmetic product incidents such as injury types (e.g. burns and cuts) and affected products (e.g. appliances and grooming products). The collected reports include those submitted voluntarily by consumers as well as those reported by industry.

Consumers have the right to report incidents involving consumer products and cosmetics. Doing so allows Health Canada to better monitor product safety. Submit an incident report electronically here.
