
Vaping Products Recall
Health Canada issues first recall of a Vaping Product under CCSPA/CCCR 2001

After Royal Assent of Bill S-5 (Tobacco & Vaping Products Act) in May 2018, Vaping Products not Marketed for a Therapeutic Use came under the authority of the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA) and the labeling and packaging requirements for the Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, 2001 (CCCR, 2001).
Consumer Product Safety Officers with the Regulatory Operations and Regions Branch of Health Canada have been actively inspecting Vaping e-liquids in retail stores and have issued the first Product Recall for non-compliance of an e-liquid with the labeling and packaging requirements of (CCCR, 2001). Health Canada is advising that “Consumers should immediately stop using and return any recalled product to the place of purchase for a replacement.
