Self-Care Framework Postponed

 In Natural Health Products

By: Sarah Calder, Regulatory Affairs Specialist, email

As part of Health Canada’s Self Care Framework initiative, recent plans to introduce amendments to the Natural Health Products Regulations and the Food and Drug Regulations have been postponed.  The release of Plain Language Labelling for natural health products and the introduction of a risk-based approach to the regulation of non-prescription drugs expected to be released this spring has now been delayed until spring 2020.

The delay in introducing Plain Language Labelling for natural health products will allow the industry more time to prepare for the change to regulatory modernization.  If you have questions regarding Plain Language Labelling, the Self-Care Framework, or any other concerns regarding your natural health products, please connect with us.
