Regulations Amending the Pest Control Products Regulations (Labeling)

 In Regulatory Affairs

By: Teri Dickinson, Regulatory Affairs Group Manager, email

On May 29, 2019, the Regulations Amending the Pest Control Products Regulations (Labeling) were published in the Canada Gazette, Part II.  This amendment outlines the labeling requirements for various packaging including:

  • Outermost package
  • Brochures or leaflets
  • Railway tank car or transport truck tanker-trailer

These amendments are intended to modernize labeling requirements across a variety of different pest control product container types.  This includes large refillable containers, railway tank cars, and transport truck tanker-trailers, as well as outer containers (e.g. cardboard boxes) and single-use disposable containers. It is meant to address the request that Health Canada clarifies the meaning of the term “bulk container” (hence the application of the section 31 bulk container labeling provisions of the PCPR).

Regulations Amending the Pest Control Products Regulations (Labeling) amendments come into force on November 29, 2019.

Are you ready? Do you need help with these new amendments?
