Just a reminder that Health Canada is hosting the 5th North America Consumer Product Safety Summit on September 22 & 23, 2021. This is a virtual event where North American Consumer Product Safety regulators discuss current trends in consumer product safety and emerging issues in today’s market.

Last month I had advised in a blog that Health Canada would be hosting this popular event. At this point in time, the event is now showing that it is full. Contact your colleagues to see who might have access to these sessions to listen in. It should be an interesting event.

Health Canada’s Consumer Product Safety Program (CPSP) will speak with Mexico’s Consumer Protection Federal Agency (PROFECO) and the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (U.S. CPSC).

The summit will also provide a great opportunity for stakeholders to listen in and ask questions regarding the panel discussions on some of the latest trends in consumer product safety, such as:

  • E-Commerce and COVID-19
  • Safety of Seniors
  • The internet of Things
  • Safety by Design

Current Agenda:

September 22, 2021

Events taking place on the first day of the Summit include:

  • Keynote speaker
  • Regulators panel
  • Panel on E-Commerce and COVID-19
  • Panel on Safety of Seniors

September 23, 2021

Events taking place on the second day of the Summit include:

  • Panel on Internet of Things
  • Panel on Safety by Design
  • Release of the Joint Statement

This free event is showing as full at the moment.  Here’s hoping they open up more spots for availability. Good luck.
