Marketplace Inspection Program for Rodenticide Products: PMRA, Pest Management Regulatory Agency
By: Teri Dickinson, Manager, Regulatory Affairs Group, email
Beginning in January of 2017 the Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) will be undertaking a marketplace inspection program to assess compliance of rodenticide products.
The PMRA Re-evaluation Note 2010-17 “Risk Mitigation Measures for Eight Rodenticides” highlighted changes to the acceptable type and form of rodenticide bait products and set restrictions on where and how these baits could be applied.
Retailers across Canada will be inspected to ensure rodenticide products available in the Canadian marketplace are in compliance with the Pest Control Products Act (PCPA) and its Regulations. Inspectors will be verifying product labeling and packaging requirements, ensuring commercial class rodenticides are not being sold to domestic users, and verifying that products with expired registrations are not being distributed. Contact Dell Tech today for assistance reviewing all your marketplace materials to ensure you are in compliance with PCPA.
