Traffic Management and Pedestrian Safety

The Occupational Health and Safety Act in Ontario is changing to increase safety in the areas of traffic management and pedestrian safety, are you ready?

Employers will be required to develop and maintain written traffic management programs for moving vehicles and pedestrian traffic to address hazards.  Depending on your business there may be requirements for designated walkways to separate equipment traffic from pedestrian traffic and clear signage to be present. In some cases there may also be requirements for barriers and/or safeguards to protect workers.

Every program will require a minimum annual review to address changes which could impact traffic management.
