Cannabis in Ontario: Retail & Distribution Model

 In news

By: Jennifer MacDonald, email

The Provincial Government of Ontario has released its plan to regulate the retail sale and distribution of cannabis. Highlighting a model that includes the introduction of 150 retail outlets by 2020, Ontario’s plan focuses on dedicated stores managed by a subsidiary of the LCBO with knowledgeable and highly trained retail staff.  Existing cannabis dispensaries, including those selling medical cannabis are currently, and will continue to be illegal under the new rules.
