California Cleaning Product Ingredient Disclosure Deadlines, Compliance and Surveillance

 In Ingredient Disclosure

By: Joe McCarthy, Lab Service Manager/Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist, email

There are just over 3 months left for the deadline to include Ingredient disclosure on labels under the California Cleaning Product Right to Know Act. Are you ready?

It is NOT just the consumer that is looking at your labels and keeping score. BEWARE!

In September,  Clean and Healthy New York (CHNY),  an NGO,  which advances broad policy and market changes to promote safer chemicals, a sustainable economy, and a healthier world released a report which assessed and ranked five major cleaning product companies to determine if and how they conform to California law and New York State’s Best Management Practices for ingredient disclosure. The report found only 1 company had full and compliant disclosure with the California Cleaning Product Right to Know Act.

Dell Tech Laboratories has created an Excel® based search tool that will allow you to quickly and easily search and identify all your CAS# against all the Designated Lists and create the label and website disclosure in just minutes instead of hours.

You can watch a demo of how the Ingredient Disclosure Search Tool works on our YouTube® Channel.

How are you finding and searching the 23 Designated Lists for each of the ingredients in your products?

How long is that taking you and will your labels be ready for January 1, 2021?
